  • Unspoiled Del Rey Beach just steps away from any home site.
  • Two public golf courses right next to The Reserve—so you can fit in a game on a moment’s notice. A third private club is located a few miles north.
  • A Community cottage near The Reserve entrance serves as the Mail Center, and will soon be available for Association functions and private gatherings upon request.
  • A community park and playground for your kids to enjoy.

Golf on 3 Local Courses!

Golf to your heart's content on any of two nearby courses open to the public— without ever paying membership or maintenance fees. Both courses are actually adjacent to The Reserve and several of our homesites are located right on them. The historic Gearhart Golf Links was established in 1896. The Highlands Golf Course was created in the 1980s. Again, there are no membership costs for enjoying these wonderful facilities. So as a Reserve resident, you get all the benefits of living on or near a golf course for free.

The Astoria Golf & Country Club, a private golf club located a few miles north, has traditions dating back to 1923. They feature several levels of membership to suit the needs of just about any Reserve resident.

  • Gearhart Golf Links - Opened in 1892, the oldest course in the Northwest and arguably in the Western United States. To this day, the 18-hole course retains a classic links flavor, with a hint of traditional Northwest design features.
  • Highlands Golf Course - A 9-hole executive length golf course in Gearhart, Oregon. This short layout has 3 sets of teeboxes for a fun, but challenging golfing experience.
  • Astoria Golf and Country Club - Astoria Golf and Country Club began in 1923 and is considered one of the northwest's premier private golf clubs. The unforgettable and challenging 18-hole golf course, built on top of ancient sand dunes near the Pacific Ocean, is one of Oregon's hidden gems and host to the annual Oregon Coast Invitational Tournament.

Beautiful Del Rey Beach is just a Stone's Throw Away

Del Rey BeachTwo blocks west of the Reserve (a short stroll from any of our homesites) is tranquil, undeveloped Del Rey Beach. Miles of gentle, wide, white sandy beach stretch from the south end of Gearhart as far north as Fort Stevens State Park. There is no commercialization on Del Rey Beach and no private ownership. The entire beach is sparsely used and a perfect place to enjoy peace and privacy. Walk, sit, go clamming, fly kites, surf, build a bonfire, beach comb, or even take a drive along the beach. The relaxing and laid back atmosphere of this pristine, open stretch of the Pacific is one of the most treasured secrets of the City of Gearhart.

Enjoy World Class Shopping and Dining

Within a few minutes of The Reserve at Gearhart is just about any type of store or restaurant you might want or need. Most second home communities are located in remote areas, so access to convenient shopping or entertainment is limited to whatever facilities the developer has built within the community. Not so with Gearhart. The towns of Gearhart, Astoria, Cannon Beach and Seaside are all within a 15 minute drive.

Each town features a variety of art galleries, antique shops, charming cafes, and restaurants that run the gamut from fish & chip stands to some of the most exquisite dining on the coast. Seaside Factory Outlet Center features about 30 stores and is located just 5 minutes away in Seaside. The Factory Stores at Lincoln City is a sprawling complex of over 65 stores located on the east side of coastal Highway 101. New Costco and Home Depot stores are only 7 miles to the north in Warrenton.

Most all professional services are also available—whether you need auto insurance, legal representation, a good barber, car repair, computer help, doctors, or real estate services—within a short drive from The Reserve.
