Check out these gorgeous stretches of sea while you’re in the area.

One of the main reasons why people are attracted to homes for sale on the Oregon coast is their proximity to the ocean. The Northern Oregon Coast boasts miles of pristine beach that remain unspoiled by development. Here are 6 beaches on the Northern Oregon Coast that you can’t miss.

1. Cannon Beach Cannon Beach is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Oregon Coast Range. You can enjoy a number of sights while taking a stroll along Cannon Beach, including views of the ocean, mountains, and coastal outcroppings. Haystack Rock is a sea stack on Cannon Beach that is one of Oregon’s most famous landmarks. Cannon Beach was featured in Stephen Leatherman’s book, America’s Best Beaches and was ranked number seven of the "World’s Best Beaches” by the Travel Channel.

2. Ecola State Park Ecola State Park, which is located between Seaside and Cannon Beach, offers nine miles of Pacific Ocean shoreline and coastal trails that lead to several different viewing points. The park is popular with surfers, beachgoers, and whale watchers. Some renowned beaches at Ecola State Park include Indian Beach, which is great for surfing and tide pooling, and Crescent Beach, a secluded beach that is one of the most photographed spots in Oregon.

3. Manzanita Beach Manzanita Beach offers seven miles of pristine white sand and "hard sand” by the tide line. On the south end of the beach, you’ll find lounging seals. The beach’s winds make it one of the best beaches for flying a kite on the West Coast, as well as an ideal spot for wind surfing.

4. Fort Stevens State Park Located near Astoria, OR, Fort Stevens State Park is famed for its beautiful ocean and river beaches. The ocean beaches at Fort Stevens State Park offer vehicle access and beachcombing opportunities. At one of the park’s ocean beaches, you’ll find the skeleton hull of the shipwrecked Peter Iredale. The river beaches offer salmon fishing and views of passing ships.

5. Gearhart Gearhart, OR is home to Del Rey Beach, a quiet, secluded beach and state recreation site with gorgeous sunset views. Activities you can enjoy at Del Rey Beach include kite flying, picnicking, and building sandcastles.

6. Sunset Beach Sunset Beach is located between Seaside and Warrenton in Clatsop County. The beach is approximately 12 miles long and much of it can be accessed by vehicle. Sunset Beach provides visitors with spectacular views of Cape Disappointment to the north and Ecola State Park to the south.
