Gearhart Coastal Living

Gearhart is the charming Oregon version of Carmel or Martha's Vineyard

Since the 1800s, Gearhart has been the pleasant summer destination of Oregon's business and political elite. Year-round residents enjoy the cozy, friendly, small town atmosphere absent the noise and bustle of more tourist oriented towns nearby. Downtown is all of two blocks long with locally owned one-of-a-kind businesses you will never tire of visiting. You can meet the entire City staff, from Administrator to Fire Chief with five handshakes. City Hall treats folks like neighbors - not subjects.

It seems everyone knows everyone in Gearhart, and soon, you will too. Some families have been there for generations and are part of its history. You will enjoy a peaceful, safe, law abiding community with its own unique lifestyle you will come to treasure.

The Gearhart Fire Department sponsors a 4th of July parade where all the kids, bikes and dogs get to participate. About the only noise involved is when a local boy who made it big in the Air Force gives the folks a fly-by in his F-16. On the other 364 days of the year, you will be a part of a wonderful, traditional American home town - like where grandma probably grew up.

Come to Gearhart, stay an hour, and you will want to spend a lifetime.
